Global meetings
The third global meeting of the Farmers' Forum will place on 15 and 16 February 2010 in conjunction with the Thirty-third session of IFAD's Governing Council. The Forum will bring together more than 80 farmers' leaders from around the world.
The second global meeting of the Farmers' Forum took place on 11 and 12 February 2008 in conjunction with the Thirty-first session of IFAD's Governing Council. The Forum brought together about 80 farmers' leaders from around the world. It:
- reviewed progress achieved in enhancing collaboration between IFAD and farmers' and rural producers' organizations
- discussed IFAD strategic and policy documents
- shared positions on the following three critical issues for the future of smallholder family agriculture
The first meeting of the Farmers’ Forum took place in Rome on 13 and 14 February 2006, bringing together 162 representatives at the ministerial level and more than 50 leaders, representing millions of small farmers and rural producers, from Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Near East and Europe who interacted with IFAD staff and selected partners.
