The Web Specialist will be employed as a consultant in the Communications Division. Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Web, Knowledge and Internal Communication, the incumbent will provide the following communications and web related services:

• Plan and migrate IFAD's intranet by planning to Liferay (IFAD's content management system);
• Develop themes, structure and templates using Liferay;
• Conduct user tests to ensure that CMS parameters are set appropriately and the system is functioning according to requirements;
• Assist in developing Web2.0 and social media guidelines;
• Assist in posting content on Web-based communication channels;
• Draft internal communication material to support IFAD's reform process;
• Write updates for country and project pages;
• Conduct research to write contact for new country pages;
• Serve as back up to the Manager of Web, Knowledge and Internal Communications, including leading the team’s work in her absence

Required qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of web authoring – HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, Velocity, RSS, and scripting in general
• Knowledge of a content management system, preferably Liferay
• Excellent knowledge of Web2.0 philosophy and tools
• University degree in communication and/or web technology

Experience

At least 4 years professional experience, including experience with international organizations, rural development/financial institutions or government services, in the area of design and implementation of website, social media, writing and internal communication.

Languages
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Knowledge of Arabic, French and Spanish is an asset.

It must be noted that consultants are not staff of IFAD, and that this consultancy does not carry any expectation of employment with the Fund. Remuneration will be in line with the standards set for UN consultants.
